What is TyPoints?

TyPoints is a “reward by points” program to incentivize top-performing typists. All typists are automatically enrolled upon hire. This program is currently in the trial phases; SpeakWrite reserves the right to end this trial reward program at any time.

When earning TyPoints, 1 point will be awarded to each typist for every 1,000 typed and/or proofed words.

Example: You have typed 1,500 words and proofed 499 words this quarter for a total of 1,999 proofed or typed words. Your points will reflect 1 point until you cross the 2,000 words mark.

The TyPoints data is continually refreshed on a regular basis and at the end of each quarter. Before bonuses are awarded, we go through and re-run all the data to ensure everything was captured accurately. There may be times that the number of points you see on your dashboard doesn’t exactly reflect your current point values.

Final TyPoints rewards are calculated in the first week following the start of each quarter, (January, April, July, and October) after which your points will be reset to 0. SpeakWrite management will then issue any earned bonuses via check or direct deposit.

Please be aware that points will not accumulate or rollover quarters.

Tracking your TyPoints Rewards

Your TyPoints Rewards will now display right in your Typist Dashboard. Visit the TyPoints tab to see your current point total and how far you are from your next reward.

Please note, your Previous Quarter data will not reflect your actual reward for quarter 1 of 2022 because of the transition between systems. For now, you can disregard the previous award information. After quarter 2 is over, both the current and previous award information will be accurate.

How do I earn points?

1 point will be awarded to each typist per every 1,000 typed and/or proofed words.

For now, we will use a Floor calculation, meaning that points will be rounded down. If you have typed a total of 1,999 words, you will have 1 point until you cross the 2,000 words mark.

All typists will start earning points for words typed or proofed after July 1st, 2021.

Will my points expire?

Points will be accumulated on a per quarter basis and will reset to 0 at the start of each quarter. (January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, October 1st)

Points will not accumulate or roll over quarters.

How are points translated to rewards?

How do I redeem my points for rewards?

In the first week following the start of each quarter, (Week of January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st), SpeakWrite management will pay out the reward amount that you have earned, via the same method as your regular pay (check or direct deposit).

How do I know how many points I have earned?

Visit the TyPoints tab on your Typist Dashboard to see how many points you currently have.

Will this replace bonuses?

No. This will not replace any other bonuses. This program is just an extra incentive.
