Required Equipment/Computer Settings

In order for your computer to work properly with our software, it must meet our minimum requirements. Please review the information listed below to prepare for installing and running our software, TypeEasy.

Equipment Requirements

Windows-Based PC (64-Bit)
- If using a Mac, you must be able to install and run a compatible Windows operating system. Windows is required for running TypeEasy. Technical support for using TypeEasy on Mac is not currently available.
- 32-Bit Computers/Operating Systems are not compatible with our software.
- Windows 10 or newer operating system. (Windows 8 or older may not be compatible.)
Minimum 6 GB RAM
Internet browser (Chrome or Edge recommended)
Foot Pedal (Optional if you choose to use Hot Keys or Auto-Pause feature to control audio. Manual audio control is not sufficient.)

Email Settings

Use the following guidelines for appropriate email settings:

You must set up and use an email account that no one else uses. All emails from SpeakWrite should be considered confidential information, as indicated in your Confidentiality Agreement.
Display your first name, last name, and email address on outgoing emails.
Do NOT require an automatic response from recipients, such as acknowledgement of receipt.
Ensure that mail received from SpeakWrite will not be blocked or misdirected as Spam or Junk. No emails from SpeakWrite should ever be marked/reported as spam.

System Updates

Be sure your computer is updated with all regular system updates before installing TypeEasy. This will ensure there are no compatibility issues. This will be the first question SpeakWrite support will ask when helping you solve problems with your system.

Try turning on automatic updates if it's not already on. That way, your computer will update automatically.
