Spelling and Difficult Words

Misunderstanding Words

If you misunderstand a word and type something else, you will be assessed an error if it is clearly wrong, based on the audio quality and the context of the surrounding words.  If what you think you hear doesn't make sense, it is probably not what the client is saying, and you should reconsider the word in context. If you still can't figure it out, please use ****.  If you type a word that sounds similar to what was said, and makes sense in the context, no error will be assessed.

Mistyping Words/Phrases

A mistyped word/phrase (multiple consecutive words) is an obvious typing error of a common word/phrase.  The context of surrounding words must also be considered in identifying mistyped words.  Please keep in mind that not all spelling errors are flagged by SpellCheck. If the word is in the dictionary (but you typed the wrong word) it will not be flagged.  These mistyped words can only be identified by reading through your document in its entirety before submitting.
