Verbatim Spelling Policy
Because of the strict verbatim policy on Spanish jobs, things like affirmative sounds, negative sounds and slang must be included and typed as spoken. To ensure continuity across all SpeakWrite jobs, refer to the following list of common spellings you will need when completing Spanish jobs.
Type | Spelling |
---|---|
Affirmative Sounds (Sounds that mean "yes") | uh huh mm hmm Okay or OK (Do not type Ok or ok.) all right (Do not type alright.) |
Negative Sounds (Sounds that mean "no") | nuh uh uh uh mm mm |
Slang | gonna wanna kinda 'cause |
Slang Spellings
Do not go overboard with phonetic spellings for slang! If you know the word the speaker is saying, spell it appropriately. A phonetic spelling is only needed if the client is saying a made-up word or has significantly mispronounced a word.
