title | Login Information |
---|
You have TWO different passwords that you will need for training, and both of them were sent to you by email. One password gets you into our Learning Management System (LMS) to access training videos and quizzes. The other password gets you into the applicant login page and will be used for logging in to the TypeEasy software to complete your training jobs later on.
BOTH passwords were sent to you by email, so please keep these emails for your records. If you do not receive these emails, please check your spam folder before contacting us.and login with your email address and password. (This will be the email address and password you selected when submitting your application.)
Step 1 – LMS Courses
The first step of training is to complete online courses in our Learning Management System (LMS). You will find your LMS login username and password in an email that you received once your Work History was approved. Use this information to login to the LMS here Upon approval of your Work History, you should have received an email from SpeakWrite's Training system, Thinkific, with a link to set a password for our LMS account. If you did not receive this email, please contact Typist.Support@speakwrite.com for a link to login.
Note: You MUST complete your LMS courses before completing your training jobs.
Step 2 – TypeEasy Installation
Before installing our TypeEasy software, please go through the Installation Checklist see the article for /wiki/spaces/CKB/pages/39059657 to Please go through the Installing TypeEasy article to be sure your computer/settings are correct. Then click complete the button process to install TypeEasy.
Once installed, go to your desktop and open the TypeEasy logo.
Log in with your user I.D. email address and password.
Then review the Introduction to TypeEasy video below, which will provide instruction on more information about using TypeEasy.
Step 3 – Training Jobs
Before proceeding to the ten test training jobs, it’s critical that you review the LMS courses and Online Help thoroughly to ensure you have a good understanding of our typing policies, as each of the jobs must be completed following our policies. Please do not rush this step, as understanding our policies is a very important part of the process. Unless the client indicates otherwise (through written instructions, verbal instructions or a client template), our default formatting should always be used.
After reviewing OLH and LMS courses, please proceed to the test training jobs in TypeEasy. The jobs will be available to you in order (for example, after you have completed and submitted Job 1, you will have access to Job 2, etc.). They will not be reviewed until all ten have been received. Please remember to submit the jobs early enough to allow time to make any corrections that may be needed before the account becomes disabled (30 days after the application was opened).
All training jobs must be completed to a satisfactory level. If your training jobs do not show a strong effort at following the typing policies in the training modules and the OLH, you may not be offered a contract. If your training jobs are rejected, this decision is final.
To get started with the test jobs, log in to TypeEasy and click on Job 1 on the right side of the screen:Refer back to Online Help and your LMS course as needed while working on the test jobs.to the Training tab. From there, select Training Job 1 to begin.

After submitting all of your training jobs, Typist Supervisors will review them and provide feedback. Once feedback is available, it will be located here in TypeEasy alongside your training jobs. Training jobs must be completed to a satisfactory level or a contract will NOT be offered. Please take the feedback very seriously and put your best foot forward on these jobs. |
Test jobs must be free of spelling errors and typos, and completed using SpeakWrite policies in order to be approved. Please treat each test job as though it will be sent directly to a client.
NOTE: Three of the test jobs (1, 5 and 6) contain instructions for both English-language transcriptionists and Spanish-language transcriptionists. For each of these three jobs, follow only the instructions for English trainees. If If you are a Spanish-language trainee and have landed on this OLH page accidentally, please go to to the Spanish Typist TrainingHelp for more information about your test jobstraining.
Tips for Training
- Training jobs must be completed satisfactorily, or a contract may not be offered. If your training jobs are rejected, this decision is final.
- The use of voice recognition software is not permitted in SpeakWrite work.
- Carefully review Job Information screen for client written instructions and word list before starting a job, and then again before submitting, to ensure that you haven't missed anything. Client instructions and word list spellings must be used, unless client asks for something different.
- Always reference the SpeakWrite Word List for spelling and formatting, unless client asks for something different.
- Review the TypeEasy V2 Word Processor page for assistance with using the built-in word processor (very similar to MS Word).
- A help ticket must be submitted (and permission received) before submitting a job as no audio/ no fax. Jobs Jobs should never be rejected (for any reason) without permission from the Help Desk.
Automatic formatting (First Line Indent, paragraph indentation, automatic numbering, etc.) should never be used unless client asks for it or asks for a template which uses it. Make sure your [COPY] Word Default Settings are set to help you avoid automatic formatting. - Try working with show/hide turned on, so you can easily see your formatting marks.
