When you accept a job, if there is a PDF (instead of audio) to be transcribed, you will see a notice pop-up like this:

After you have reviewed the job information and instructions (if any), click on the PDF tab.  This will automatically split the screen with the PDF on the left and the Word document on the right.  The menus and scroll bars work independently in each window.Image Removed  You can also drag the line between the PDF and the document to adjust the sizing of each.

Zoom In or Zoom Out on the PDF by right-clicking on it and selecting Zoom In or Zoom Out.  You can also use Ctrl with the +/- keys to zoom in and out.

Use the checkmarks at the top to show or hide the client word list and instructions, depending on your preference.  You can also choose to hide the PDF, if you want your Word document in full screen for proofreading.

Note
titleDon't forget to scroll!

When you receive a PDF job to transcribe, don't forget to scroll to the end of the PDF to ensure you are going to transcribe the entire PDF, not just the first page.

If you would like to work from a printed copy instead of a split screen, you can click the printer icon in the fax window to print the document.  Then you can resume working in the Word tab alone.

Warning

If you do print a fax, you must destroy the printed copy as soon as you are finished with the job, as anything client-related is highly confidential.  See Confidentiality

If you have trouble viewing faxes, follow the steps found at Cannot See PDF or Fax.

For tips on working with PDFs, see Viewing PDF.

Direct Fax Jobs

Some clients fax documents with a Direct Fax coversheet as seen below.  The system may assign such "direct faxes" to you for inputting the account number.  There is no compensation for entering the account number into the system; only for typing the fax itself

.

A direct fax job will automatically be displayed in TypeEasy's "Direct Fax" tab, with the notification and a box for entering the account number in the left window, and the faxed coversheet from the client in the right window.

All you need to do is type the account number into the "Account Number" box in the left window.  Do not use spaces, dashes or breaks.  Always double check your work on this step.  Mistyping an account number can result in severe delays in the job being received and completed.

Once you enter the account number and double check it for accuracy, click the "Submit" button.

Note
titleHelp Ticket

If you cannot locate an account number on the fax coversheet, open a Help Ticket for assistance.

If you submit the account number and receive an invalid account number error, verify that the number is correct and click "Submit" again.  If you receive the error again, open a Help Ticket for assistance.
