The Spanish rating sheet is the documentation tool SpeakWrite Management uses to collect data on typists and job quality. This documentation supports company initiatives such as increasing typist performance, exceeding quality standards, training programs, and more. It is imperative that this document is used according to the Standard Operating Procedure in order to provide appropriate feedback to the typists and accurate data to SpeakWrite Management.

Rating Sheet Attached

All proofreaders are provided with a Word copy of the Spanish rating sheet for reference purposes.

If you do not have a copy available to you, please download from the bottom of this page.

Proofreading Best Practices

  • Mark errors on the rating sheet as you see them.  Do not try to keep track in your head and then transfer them to the rating sheet at the end.

  • Sections of the Spanish OLH that are not specifically noted on the rating sheet can be mentioned in the comments section next to any relevant error (whether you are counting an error in that section or not).
    • Use specific references to the Spanish OLH area that needs to be reviewed.
    • This does not count against the typist in any way. Comments are a way for Proofreaders to explain policies that typists have not followed or refer them to Spanish OLH sections that may be helpful.

  • Only make ratings based on what is currently in the Spanish OLH.
    • Do not make ratings based off of personal preference, forum posts or other sources that all typists do not have access to.
    • Job ratings are calculated after all errors have been marked on the rating sheet.

Calculating Job Ratings

Because you will not be counting individual errors, we have developed a system to objectively rate jobs.  Follow the rubric below when determining how to assign the appropriate category on the Spanish rating sheet, and corresponding numerical rating in TypeEasy. (Remember, typists will NOT see the numerical rating.  They will only see the category selected.)
