If you need to create a New User Account with Administrator privileges per Help Desk instructions, reference the links and steps below:

Log into this new user account (make sure to create it with Admin privileges) and install TypeEasy. You'll need to go through the Installation Checklist as well, making sure that you add TypeEasy.exe to your firewall. Check the ports and firewall settings as well. Please provide feedback once you have finished these steps. Thanks.


If you do not know how to setup with Admin privileges, see below.

Windows 7 or Vista:

  1. To create an administrator account for a Windows 7 or Vista computer that is not a member of a domain:


  2. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.


  3. Double-click User Accounts, and then click Manage User Accounts.


  4. Click Create new account. Enter a name for the account, and then click Next.


  5. Click Computer administrator, and then click Create Account.


Windows 8:

  1. Navigate to PC Settings under the Charms -> Settings menu. You must be logged in as an administrator before doing this. If you are the first user to have activated Windows 8 on this PC, you are an administrator.

  2. Click Add User under the Users tab.

  3. Enter the new user's email address and click Next.

  5. Launch the desktop control panel and select small or large icon view. If you don't have a shortcut to it handy, you can find the Control Panel by searching for it. A window with a list of settings appears.

New users who want their accounts to sync to a device need to designate the device as a "Trusted Computer" on the Users tab in the PC Settings menu and then enter the confirmation code that it sends by email.

Windows XP:

  1. To create an administrator account on a Windows XP computer that is not a member of a domain:


  2. From the Start menu, select Settings, and then Control Panel.


  3. Double-click User Accounts.


  4. Click Create new account. Enter a name for the account, and then click Next.


  5. Click Computer administrator, and then click Create Account.


Windows 10 in detail:

If you are instructed to create a New User Account, please follow the steps from the link below below:

  1. On Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Professional editions:
    1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Accounts > Family & other people > Add someone else to this PC.
    2. Enter a username, password, password hint, and then select Next.
  2. On Windows 10 Enterprise edition:
    1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings  > Accounts > Other people > Add someone else to this PC.
    2. At the bottom of the page, select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information, and at the bottom of the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
    3. Enter a username, password, password hint, and then select Next.
  3. To make the new account an administrator account, select Start  > Settings  > Account > Family & other people (or Other people, if you're using Windows 10 Enterprise), and select Change account type. Under Account type, select Administrator > OK. Restart your machine and sign in with the new administrator account.

Once you have created a new user account with administrative privileges, please install TypeEasy and see if the issue has been resolved.
